Uniform Policy

On behalf of the Los Altos staff, SSC, and PTA, we would like to thank our families who send their children to school in a uniform on a daily basis. In 1990, Los Altos with the support of the South Whittier School District authorized schools to adopt a school wide policy in support of school uniforms. Parent and staff have urged school administration and Los Altos families to make a commitment to send their children to school in uniform.

Studies have shown that there are many benefits to wearing a uniform including a decrease in discipline issues and bullying. Wearing a school uniform also increases school safety, ease of going to school, confidence, and self-esteem. We look forward to working with you to increase the number of children wearing a school uniform.

The uniform is as follows:

Girls:

1. Top - Dark blue, light blue, white, or red polo and blouse.
2. Bottom- Dark Blue or Tan Shorts, pants, skirts, skorts or dress

Boys:
1. Top- Dark blue, light blue, white or red polo
2. Bottom - Dark Blue or Tan pants or shorts

***All students are welcome to wear their Los Altos Spirit Shirts any day of the week. Spirit Day is on Friday and we encourage all our staff and students to wear their Spirit Shirts on Friday.***
